Pros

  1. Good image quality — 1080p resolution is solid for general surveillance.

  2. Versatile signal — Because it supports multiple analog formats (CVI, AHD, TVI, CVBS), it’s good for upgrading older analog systems.

  3. Weather resistant — With IP67 rating, it’s suitable for outdoor deployment.

  4. Reasonable night vision — IR up to ~20 m is decent for many standard setups.

  5. Cost-effective — Being part of Dahua’s “Eco” series, it’s more affordable but still reliable.

Cons / Limitations

  • Fixed lens — The 3.6 mm (or optional 2.8 mm) means no zoom; limited flexibility on field of view.

  • Analog-based — Not IP/PoE; requires analog infrastructure or DVR compatible with HDCVI / AHD / TVI.

  • IR range limited — 20 m is not extremely long compared to higher-end IR cameras.

  • No advanced analytics — Being an eco / basic model, it may lack smart features like deep video analytics.

Use Cases — When This Camera Makes Sense

  • Installing a budget-friendly outdoor surveillance system for a home, shop, or small office.

  • Upgrading analog systems (coax) to HD without redoing cabling.

  • For wide-area coverage where ultra-long IR is not needed.

  • Situations where you don’t need advanced AI / analytics, just reliable video.

Things to Consider When Buying / Installing

  • Make sure your DVR / recording setup supports HDCVI or the analog format you plan to use.

  • Use a stable 12 V DC power supply.

  • Plan cable runs to keep IR performance optimal (if too far, IR may not cover well).

  • Ensure mounting is secure (since outdoor) and angled well to cover desired area.

  • Regularly check for firmware (if applicable) to keep the device secure, especially if exposed.
